Seating

Your passengers can experience seamless, customized entertainment on their own device, full WiFi access and personalized seating instructions. There are several options for offering an extended duty free shopping service to the passenger, plus remote control of reading lights and window blinds.

All of these features reduce the effort required and save time for the flight crew. They can monitor passenger comfort and the status of the seat belts, back rests, tray tables, window blinds and life vests directly from their own smart connected screen. The flight crew can also check the cabin temperature and air quality.

Thanks to faster information exchange, the Diehl Aviation smart cabin also facilitates the work of MROs. Predictive monitoring on the status of individual elements, such as window blinds, the cabin temperature and air quality, electrical seating functions, etc. is one of the most important factors for more cost-effective repair and maintenance work.

Lavatories

Since space and the number of lavatories on board is limited, hygiene becomes all the more important. All functions within the lavatory, such as the waste flap, water tap, soap dispenser and doors, have touchless controls. The innovative smart mirror allows digital signs, advertising and placards to be shown in the passenger’s language to avoid misunderstandings. Time management of the lavatories is another smart service that benefits passengers: Every lavatory on board has time slots that can be booked via a smartphone or another smart device to prevent queues.

Lavatories

The flight crew can monitor the status of numerous functions at a glance. They can instantly check the status of the smoke detectors, water tanks, the inspection status and the consumption level of toilet paper, towels and soap.

For MROs, the advantages of the smart cabin include prognostic health management to enable predictive maintenance, for example the ability to check the status of the smoke detectors and the fresh water and grey water tanks. MROs can also control the doors and latches remotely.

Galleys

The Diehl Aviation smart galley offers the flight crew and MROs a new and extended overview of the water tank status, including fresh water and grey water usage, the status of equipment such as ovens and coffee makers, the inspection status, the consumption level of food and beverages plus the status of waste bins. The galley also includes a crew-friendly display for smart power and content management. These features simplify and shorten the crew’s workflow and also enable more controlled and more sustainable use of existing resources.
