Every element of the flight process offers a variety of starting points for a smart cabin concept – from passenger preboarding and boarding preparations by the crew, to subsequent maintenance work by the MROs. At Diehl Aviation, we see ourselves as a partner and enabler for every conceivable smart cabin integration.
To see our way of doing things for our customers, IMAGINE the following scenarios.
Airport – At the gate
The Diehl Aviation smart cabin with services and compatibility with other airline applications helps to create a consistent user experience. Airport navigation and entertainment, music and movies on personal devices or in the cabin are now possible. Thanks to personalized passenger engagement, more shopping and last-minute booking options, plus a personal storage space in the cabin, it is possible for airlines to increase their ancillary revenues in a new, smarter way.
Pre-Boarding
There is a new way for airlines to brand or rebrand and, in particular, personalize the entire cabin, treating it like a blank canvas. We’ve created several options for choosing any color and decor – for the lighting, decoration, logos, special moods and any digital advertising with content that can be changed instantly. The flight crew can also prepare a welcome screen for special passengers and occasions. We rely on innovative OLED technology for displays and projections
Maintenance & Repair
Thanks to the Diehl Aviation smart cabin, MROs benefit from a complete and visionary insight for prognostic health management. Smart evaluated technical data is sent during flights to the MROs so that they can prepare for maintenance, repair or reconfiguration work as soon as the airplane lands. The MROs also know exactly what to refill in the smart galley and the smart lavatory. Smart instruction manuals enhanced with augmented reality on smart devices help to reduce the time, cost and labor required for these tasks.
Reconfiguration
The smart cabin system architecture with the new Flex PSU supports PSU adaptation. A rail system for flexible mounting and positioning, including reliable electrical connections and power line communication, allows the cabin layout and seat pitch to be reconfigured with minimum effort. Digital seat row numbers and digital placards also simplify and accelerate the reconfiguration process
